ICFAI Business School among Top Winners in 30th Case Centre Awards
IBS and Harvard won two awards each, while INSEAD won three

Hyderabad, Febuary 24, 2020: ICFAI Business School won two awards in the 30th Case Centre’s Award. The UK-based The Case Centre (TCC) is the independent home of the case method and its awards celebrate worldwide excellence in case teaching and writing.

Richard McCracken, Director of TCC, said: “Because the Awards are made based on data of actual uptake in education, they provide an annual snapshot of the topics being used to teach business and management.”

The case Big Data Strategy of Procter & Gamble: Turning Big Data into Big Value”  is about how FMCG giant P&G had leveraged big data successfully in all its business decisions – marketing, product development, supply chain, etc., under its CIO Filippo Passerini. It also details the challenges faced by the new CIO of P&G, Linda W. Clement-Holmes, in taking the big data strategy of the leading consumer packaged goods company forward.

The case “Apple and Conflict Minerals: Ethical Sourcing for Sustainability is about how technology behemoth Apple was trying to fend off accusations of using conflict minerals in its products. These conflict minerals (tin, tungsten, and tantalum extracted from illegal mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo) led to the abuse of human rights in the strife-torn parts of the world. Despite taking various initiatives since 2010, Apple was faced with challenges as the supply chain for such minerals was opaque and it was not so easy to determine which refiners and smelters around the world were financially fueling violence in the war-torn regions.

IBS is among the most successful schools with two awards this year, along with Harvard Business School (2), and INSEAD (3).“IBS also had 15 worldwide bestselling cases this year, which is next only to Harvard!  This (together with these awards) shows why a growing number of students and recruiters prefer IBS. Our students are taught with the same cases that are taught at the world’s best b-schools, and thus help them transform into well-rounded, future-ready professionals,” said Dr.Purkayastha, Dean of the IBS Case Research Center and TCC’s No.1 case author who had 11 bestsellers in the list.
